It’s time to stop using the word ‘just’ to describe yourself. Make this small shift for big change.
It’s important to listen to the way you describe yourself and watch out for the word ‘just’ sneaking in.
Here are my previous top three:
“I’m just a mum.”
“I’m just a teacher.”
“I’m just Ed’s wife.” (I actually said that! It was a posh do, full of mainly white middle class men and I felt like an imposter but didn’t realise how small I’d made myself until I heard that come out of my mouth!)
Ditch the habit of using just as a limiter to downplay yourself. You’re not “just” anything – you’re a phenomenal human who has survived 100% of their worst days and has a mahousive capacity for strength, courage, and making a difference!
The word “just” has a way of belittling who we are and what we do. As my dear old Nan used to say “There’s plenty of people that’ll mug you off, no need to do it to yourself!” She was full of gems like that!
This is your invitation to redefine your story of being ‘just’ you. You’re not “just” anything; you’re extraordinary – and I’m not the only one that believes that – ask those who love you and they’ll put you straight.
