My ‘About Me’ is really all about YOU…
… and the impact you have when you show up as your full-fat self.
If you told my younger self that I’d be on the other side of delivering over 3000 international keynotes to more than one million people, as a CEO, TV presenter, government advisor and stand up comedian known as the British Oprah, I’d have laughed so hard a little bit of wee would have come out!
Mind you, getting to university, becoming a teacher and founding a successful training business whilst on maternity leave should all be totally impossible for a foster care kid, a homeless teen and a child abused by their own parents.
It’s not though. I know this because I’ve been all three.
My Shero’s Journey
From broken to Beyonce (if it’s dark and you squint a bit) a handful of teachers stood with me and helped me to overcome huge adversity.
They didn’t think they had any power to change the world but to me, they were Everyday Heroes.
Here’s how their impact changed my trajectory…
I BECAME A FEAR FIGHTER
I was six years old when I realised adults couldn’t be trusted. By 11 I was an ill-equipped mum to five siblings battling poverty and abuse at home.
For years I let my past be the script for my future. Fear drove my bus until I tried being just 10% braver, swap fear for curiosity.
I BECAME MISTAK ARTIST
Saying yes more got me through education, into teaching and beyond to advising international governments but it didn’t always work out.
Like that time I was fired in the first week of The Apprentice! I learned to pick myself up after mistakes, reframe and go again.
Your past is not a script for your future.
ME. I SAID THAT. JUST NOW.
I BECAME A RESILIENCE NINJA
I stopped turning the volume down on myself. Instead, I opted for being professionally vulnerable and personally authentic.
My inner mantra of “I’m not good enough” became “I am enough”.
That shift allowed me to show up as my full-fat self and led to a record-breaking TEDx Talk, a book deal and invitations to speak all over the world.
I BECAME A POSITIVE DISRUPTOR
I started living life as the human I was designed to be, rather than the woman the world said I had to be.
That decision inspired a new level of authenticity which, through my keynotes, workshops and coaching, frees people to unlock their own potential.
Mummy knows a lot. So does Daddy. Mummy probably knows more.

I married a fantastic human. In addition to being a top-drawer husband, Ed is a seasoned mentor with more than twenty-five years of proven success in sales and marketing managing global multi-million pound portfolios.
Together, Ed and I are co-founders of Human 1st Ltd.
After you have been motivated and galvanised by one of my keynotes, Ed walks alongside organisations coaching executive leaders, mentoring managers and deepening engagement with employees and clients.

Welcome To The Human Revolution!
In this interview with Chris Sheppardson the founder of EP Business in Hospitality, Ed and I share how leaders can balance life and work and deepen engagement with their teams and clients.
Oh, and I also share the details of my two-funerals plan with a dress code of full drag for all!
Every single keynote I deliver allows me to donate my time, talent and experience back to education.
Your investment in me as your keynote speaker helps children, including those from under-resourced communities, to access tools, skills and knowledge to develop them as the resilient leaders of tomorrow.
Alongside keynotes for school leaders, teachers and students, I create courses and content used by thousands of schools in the UK and abroad.

Teachers are Everyday Heroes.
ME AGAIN. I SAY THIS A LOT.
