How To Have The Best Valentine’s Day Ever

FEATURED

Whenever I hear the ‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself’ vibe, I always think of the raw deal Maureen and Ken next-door-but-one get if you‘re not very nice to yourself!

This V-Day, before you rush out to buy flowers/M&S Dinner for 2/a sleeping bag to hide in until it’s all over, pay attention to the most important and significant love affair in your life – YOU! 🥰

Here are 3 tips to make your self-love game strong:

🍰 Step 1 – Make smiling at yourself in the mirror a habit: Yes, seriously! It’s a 30-second cheer-up that stops you from criticising your own physical appearance. Go for it while you’re brushing your teeth, when you catch your reflection in the window and especially when washing your hands next to a stranger in public toilets – it’s contagious!

🚫 Step 2 – Have a go at saying NO: “No” is a beautiful one-sentence word, yet we often struggle to own it. By saying no, you’re saying a big YES to yourself – your time, your mental capacity, and your social battery. You know, your most precious resources!

📜 Step 3 – Swap your To Do List for a To Be LIST: Life is for living, not just ticking boxes. Oh, and sidebar, you’re going to die with an unfinished To Do list – sobering thought, eh? Start with a list of how you want to feel and who you want to be, then do the things that get you there.
