Jasmine Star said I should. It’s time to get personal! It started today when I was school uniform shopping for Trinity and Jake. Trin starts Junior School and Jake starts in Foundation next week – I mean when did that happen? They were babies a minute ago! Then I remembered a time before that – when it was just me and Ed. Just before we met I had sold my car and was ready to emigrate to New Zealand when I saw this ad in Marie-Claire magazine…
My initial thought was ‘What a poseur!’ But as I read his answers I decided that it was a bit of publicity and a free meal so I went for it. Ed had loads of entries and actually picked someone else who (thankfully) blew him out at the last minute! Then I received a cryptic message on my old phone from some chick called Saffron about a date. I called back out of courtesy to say she had the wrong number and then remembered! Off I went – how many couples are lucky enough to have a documented magazine article of their first date – the night they met their husband?!
So there we go – the rest, as they say, is history! That night was the most romantic night of my life (was exhausted by the time we got back to our hotel on our wedding night and ended up crying because I couldn’t get out of my dress!) We win every ‘Who has the coolest how we met story’ competition with this gem! Lucky I actually went for it after Cilla failed to hook me up on Blind Date failed back in 1991 – but that’s another blog post!
Oh how I wish I wasn’t so shy and retiring! I’ve had more photos taken of myself since I became a professional photographer than in the 20 years prior to that! It was fun at the time but then I dropped the bubble mixture all down myself and the balloons went on to cause a riot between our combined offspring!
These were taken by my talented friend Mel who wanted to capture my personality. I think she nailed it – but am interested in what you think! I want to use these images on my website to give it a little of my personality, sooooooo… For those who know me – is it me? For those who don’t - what sort of person do these images make you think of? Most importantly, would you book a shoot with this chick?
Please leave a comment below – I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
I certainly do! James and Paula have lived over the close from us for a couple of years now and they have become firm friends. Apparently the number one reason people move house is neighbours so I feel really blessed to have such a generous, thoughtful and kind-hearted family on my doorstep. They even let us borrow their dog, Levi!
Their daughter Monique, was the very first ‘I Do Re-do’ bride I photographed, in wellies and a wedding dress jumping over stepping stones with no regard for her own personal safety - just so I could get the shot! Mon and Luke make a gorgeous couple and I can’t wait to do their New York Wedding! Luke also has the coolest Batman car according to Jake, my little boy!
Marcel, their son is a real hit with my kids. In fact Jake and Trin wold rather hang out with them than go to Activity Land! Marcel and Becky, his wife-to-be, are totally lovely and incredibly gorgeous. It’s so easy to take beautiful images of these two. It would be an honour to be capture their wedding day in 2012. Especially if Makerson is there in a little bowtie!
Guys – nice try with the move, but you’re stuck with us! Start the fire, we’ll be round on Tuesday for a Braai!

I am already completely smitten with these two. I had a message from Sophie one day saying she had seen my website and liked my style – so she’s already completely fabulous by my reckoning! We met with her Mum at Carluccio’s (my other office in CMK!) and as we chatted about the wedding I got that tingle – the one where you know this is going to be extra special. I am forever grateful that Sophie and Steve choose me to be their photographer.
Apart from the fact that they are both proper heroes, they are just a lovely couple. They have a way of making you feel that you have been friends for ages. Spending time with them at Willen Lake reminded me of why this is the best job in the world!
Guys – you so totally rock! Woburn Sculpture Gallery won’t know what’s hit it next February!
Here’s a sneak peak! I am so excited about their images. Stay tuned for the Pre Wedding Shoot Part Two which includes their animal family of Snakes and Sugar Gliders!
I often take Trinity and Jake into CMK after school. We run around the tree outside HSBC, check out the displays in Middleton Hall and, since Yo Sushi came to town, play Dorayaki Bingo! One day, on the way out of Krispy Kreme (again) I noticed a gorgeous explosion of sparkly pink, a new jewellery shop called Fabulous. It’s so me! The owner, Jo is a lovely lady with an eye for style and really understands her industry. We chatted and I told her I loved her brand and would like to work together. I actually left having signed up to run my first Race for Life too. A couple of weeks later we got together with the wonderful stylist Elaine from Green and Brown, amazingly talented Headonist owner Irene and make up guru, Helen, in the Hub. I had great fun photographing the two Face of Fabulous competition winners Hannah and Claire WHO ARE NOT MODELS! You won’t believe how amazing they look!
Thanks to The Living Room, Brasserie Blanc, Headonist, Cafe Rouge and Loch Fyne for letting us use their gorgeous interiors. I really enjoyed this and want to do more of these shoots using MK businesses – who’s up for it?
Stunning images Jaz, these ladies are clearly having so much fun being photographed by you and they look amazing! Love the first one and the one under the painting especially xx

Wow, gorgeous people, gorgeous images.Truly an inspiration!
So, there’s this fab lady called Taz. She works at my son, Jacob’s nursery and has looked after Trinity and Jake (and me) for 6 years. We all totally adore her. She has supported Ed and I through weaning (food and dummy), potty training, and all the emotions that go along with being parents with a toddler. I was delighted when she announced she was pregnant as it gave me a opportunity to give a little back in the form of recording precious memories.
Lola is as bright as a button with a cheeky grin that will melt your heart! I have been lucky enough to be part of Lola’s celebrations since birth and have a collection of cracking photos of her to show to her boyfriends (when she is 35 Ian). Recently Lola stole the show at her Christening, which I think she saw as a chance to perform to a captive audience. It was great fun and was actually at the same church where Taz & Ian are getting married next year. Guess who’s photographing the big day?
Guys – I love you! You so totally rock and your wedding is going to be a complete joy!
It’s my total pleasure hon! Lola is my little poster girl! I look forward to capturing all of her growing up!

Jaz every image is breath taking!!! I simply cannot put into words how much those photos mean to us!! Thank u doesn’t feel like enough!!!! U are amazing!!!! X
Alan has been friends with my husband Ed for years, in fact they are off on a jolly in Germany as I type! Alan is flying Ed there and back – how cool is that?
Emma is a genuinely lovely lady. She met Alan at Uni and they have been together since. We were pregnant together with Jake and Cameron and the boys are both great friends.
It was real fun to photograph them and their images really tell the story of their family. I can’t wait to deliver their frames next week. Beautiful 24 inch squares with glossy black frames and large mounts. They look amazing! Anyone one who knows Alan and Emma – get round there for a viewing!
Oh and tell Alan his muscles look amazing and his legs don’t look the least bit chickeny!
